VOLUNTEERS

Being present is also a way of caring.

We encourage our volunteers to think outside of the box and speak freely on how we can provide comfort and dignity to our patients and their families.

At Medcare Hospice, we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support for those who feel called to volunteer with our patients and their families.

Our volunteers who work directly with patients offer compassionate emotional support, not only to the patient but also to their loved ones. One of the most meaningful services our volunteers provide is respite, giving families a much-needed break and peace of mind during this important chapter of life.

Types of Volunteering Opportunities

Companionship & Emotional Support

Friendly visits, conversation, reading, games, and simply being present to reduce loneliness and provide comfort to patients and families.

Support Calls

Assisting with follow-up calls, cards, and outreach to families after the loss of a loved one, offering continued support during the grieving process.
